Kelowna Townhomes
A Townhouse or townhome is a form of row housing where individual houses are placed side-by-side. They often have a three-story format to provide for larger living spaces in a relatively compact footprint. Two or more homes are attached and share a common wall.
Townhomes in Kelowna are becoming increasingly popular in Kelowna Downtown, South Kelowna, Lower Mission, and Rutland areas, as the City of Kelowna encourages builders to increase density and provide more affordable housing close to work and amenities.
Many retirement communities built in the 1980s and 1990s featured a more wide-open form of townhome where one or two walls of each house were shared between adjacent homes often with rancher-style floorplans. The tendency now is to provide parking on the main floor with the majority of living space found on the second and third floors.
A big attraction for many townhome or townhouse owners is the ground-level entry.
